Your voice stays on your Mac

SayWha records audio only while you hold the shortcut. It is transcribed on your Mac using Apple's on-device speech engine, cleaned up with local rules, and discarded as soon as the text is ready. Audio is never stored and never sent anywhere.

Transcripts

The finished text is pasted into the app you were using and left on your clipboard. If history is enabled, the 50 most recent transcripts are kept on your Mac in an encrypted file; you can delete any entry, clear all, or turn history off, which erases it. Transcripts are never transmitted.

Network use

SayWha works with networking disabled. The only optional connection is the update check, which fetches a small version file from saywha.dev if you turn it on. It sends no personal data.

Diagnostics

You can export a diagnostics file from Settings to share with us when reporting a problem. It contains timings, permission states, and hardware information, never audio or transcript text. Nothing is uploaded automatically.
